Romantic Weekends Away Australia

There comes a time when reconnecting with your lover and rekindling the romance in your relationship is an important aspect of your life. A
romantic weekend away is just what the doctor ordered. There are several options for this that won’t break the bank, and will give you and your partner memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

One idyllic getaway destination is Albany in Western Australia, situated about 400 kilometers southeast of Perth. It’s an elegant spot, with a sun drenched ambiance that you would normally find during an island vacation. Albany is chiefly a leisure destination with thousands of tourists flocking to its sunny shores every year.
Being an important center in Western Australia outside of Perth, Albany also has one of the main seaports in the Great Southern region. It was originally founded by Captain Vancouver in 1791 and established as a town several years later in 1826.

Lining the town’s streets are about 50 colonial buildings that are reminiscent of the town’s dramatic history related to convict shipments. The historic center of the town has been preserved by turning these buildings into stylish restaurants, art galleries, and museums.

Take a trek along the heritage walk trail, named Amity Trail, to observe Albany’s heritage and history. The two main points of the route are Brig Almity, which brought Albany its first convict shipment and settlers, and is a replica of the original ship; and the old whaling station, which is one-of-a-kind in Australia.

Just a short drive from Albany, you will certainly enjoy the serenity and calmness felt by being among the huge trees known as tingle trees. The Walpole-Nornalup National Park is home to the Valley of the Giants Tree Top walk, giving you tremendous views from a suspended bridge forty meters in the air. Some of these trees, at over 400 years old, are so gigantic, that driving your car through them wouldn’t be a problem

Another area for a great romantic weekend with unbelievable scenes of nature and non-stop amusement is Apollo Bay in Victoria, Australia. Apollo Bay gives you great access to several interesting sites in the area such as the Great Ocean Walk, the 12 Apostles, and the rainforests of the Otway Ranges.

Navigating the Great Ocean Walk takes you through gorgeous parks, inaccessible beaches, magnificent coastline, rainforests of the Otways, and the 12 Apostles. One of the most iconic photographs of Australia is of the 12 Apostles. Most likely, you have seen photographs of this rock formation, but observing them in person is awe-inspiring. One good way to get a great view of the 12 Apostles is from the air. Consider booking a helicopter flight and then staying the night in Port Campbell.

Apollo Bay and Port Campbell are a great choice for a romantic and relaxing getaway and also provide you with a close look at the impressive natural beauty of this area.
